The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) is looking for qualified applicants to serve as in-house interns. The interns will be stationed in our headquarters in Braselton, Georgia. :

COMMUNICATIONS DESCRIPTION:
The AJGA is seeking a Public Relations, Journalism or Mass Communications major to assist the in-house communications staff of a nonprofit golf association with daily communications tasks. Based on the candidate’s abilities, the internship may include media relations, writing and editing news and feature stories, the design and creation of publications or advertisements, video editing and web site maintenance, as well as administrative tasks such as organizing files, photography, news clippings and publications.

Description: StateImpact is a reporting network of NPR and Member Stations in eight states, dedicated to public policy reporting on-air and online. Its mission is to tell explanatory, data-driven stories focused on how state issues and policy affect people’s lives.

Since launching its issued-driven sites last year, the network is leading coverage of majorissues in energy, education and the economy. StateImpact currently covers eight states with a core editorial team at NPR to offer strategy, training, data analysis and design and development resources. The StateImpact Intern will assist the core team and field reporters in developing compelling content, with an emphasis on online interactive and data presentations.

Responsibilities:
· Work with NPR’s StateImpact editorial coordinators to identify and refine possible projects
· Assist reporters with research
· Acquire data from government agencies
· Clean and analyze datasets
· Coach reporters on “do-it-yourself” projects
· Review and package visual and audio content produced by the reporters

Minimum Qualifications:

POLITICO Fellowship

Description: POLITICO is offering one-year fellowships to promising reporters who are committed to developing expertise in political and congressional news coverage. The fellowship begins Sept. 4, 2012, and lasts one year. It includes a stipend of at least $30,000 (commensurate with experience) plus benefits and includes two weeks’ paid vacation. Fellows will receive intensive mentoring and close editing as they report on Congress, the administration, national political campaigns, lobbying, finance, etc. Fellows must remain for the duration of the program. Becoming a fellow does not guarantee later employment at POLITICO.
