Title: Global Parish Project: Coordinator Intern

Location: Belize


Description: The Global Parish Project is a community-based organization dedicated to the promotion, production and cross-cultural sharing of social and culturally relevant documentary media in Belize.

We are passionate about film, particularly documentary video. We endeavor to give emerging media and arts professionals an opportunity to explore their creativity and to develop skills in digital media, audio and video production, and storytelling. We seek to contribute to youth empowerment and identity and more inclusive cultural industries in Belize. The Global Parish Project is managed by professionals working in the fields of media, film, education and business.

The Coordinator should be a reliable, self-motivated, and open-minded person who can work both with a team and independently. The Coordinator will report to the Interim Executive Director.


  • Coordinates program activities
    • Interacts and liaises with youth and trainers facilitating program objectives;
    • Prepares and manages project budgets;
    • Prioritizes among requests, and communicates progress regularly to Executive Director;
  • Administers project operations, including
    • Assisting in coordination of meetings, presentations and public events
    • Maintenance of project documentation, including parental release forms, attendance logs, equipment logs, and evaluation forms;
    • Oversight of production of promotional literature and media content;
  • Monitors and evaluates program successes and draft periodic reports including targets provided


  • Associate’s degree in education, business administration, or related field.
  • At least three years of experience in project management, grants management, or business administration.
  • Experience in youth and community development desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong writing and communications skills
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office, and web-savvy
  • Experience organizing self and others
  • Demonstrated knowledge of substantive project related areas, i.e., creative writing, creative expression, literacy, secondary education, and media production

Title: Global Parish Project: Youth Voices Production Intern

Location: Belize

Description: This internship is for an initial period of three months. The intern will work with the Global Parish Project in the execution of Youth Voices spoken word and other cultural events, as well as youth-driven social media campaigns. The Intern will schedule time independently but will report one full day per week to the Global Parish office.


  • Compiles and writes Press Releases and ad scripts for events;
  • Handles all logistical matters for events (booking venues, follow up with MC and talent, timely placement of newspaper and radio ads)
  • Under guidance of Managing Director, liaises with creative designers, promoters, and talent for all public events to ensure cohesion with organizational mission and design of the event
  • Manage contact database in Excel, Google Docs and Mailchimp

Qualifications: The Youth Voices Intern (Production Assistant) must be proficient in written and oral communication skills. The individual should also possess good customer service and interpersonal skills. Discretion, good judgment, flexibility, and initiative are especially important.
